JONATHAN MILLER
SPIRIT OF 76 MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
“Live by Faith, One Day at a Time”
---Jonathan Miller

INTRODUCTION
These words embody the personal philosophy of the late Jonathan Miller, a member of the Lewiston-Porter High School Class of 2010, who was known by his family and friends for his strong faith and the happiness and peace that he achieved by living for the day and moment. Many described Jonathan, or J-Mill as he was affectionately known, as having the heart of a giant and smile of an angel, touching those he knew and loved as well as strangers. Jonathan accepted everyone and had a gift of making each person feel as if they
were his best friend. Jonathan consistently displayed kindness, courage and a zest for life. He knew how to face struggles with a light heart and turn challenges into successes. Described as reliable, flexible, and always there with a smile and kind word, Jonathan’s tremendous work ethic earned him the highest respect.
Inspired by the life and work of St. Vincent de Paul, Jonathan loved where love was needed, helped anyone who called him, never saying no….nothing was too much if it meant helping someone else. The Spirit of 76 Memorial Scholarship was established by Jonathan’s family to honor Jonathan’s character of kindness, love, courage, strength, compassion and perseverance, and will be used to financially assist another high school senior who demonstrates a commitment to the ideals by which Jonathan lived.
